below is the post I wrote for contrar.ie.
i've been drinking whiskey and staring in-front of the computer since 1am (its 2:05 now)
given that this is a private account, i think i'm okay writing more personal things (as I know my older internet friends won't think i'm weird)
so the goals for '09 that i don't want people to know. - eat more and find a girlfriend (aimee thing, not working, we're not going out and i'm sick of it already)
not too bad eh? just kicking an obsession and finding a girl in cork city that isn't a slut, chain-smoker or both.
ANYWAY.
The better-written post, as follows.
could blab on about 2008, which was a mixed year for me. I've met a lot of new people and lost a fair amount of old friends. I've moved... I've lost interest in listing my '08.
I can't say my entrance into 2009 (a room packed full of drunken guys and three girls screaming at BBC 1) was fantastic, but since every other year has been spent in-front of the computer, the fact that I was out means I'm getting better.
I've got high-ish hopes for 2009, this being the year when I'll
get off my ass and start doing some school work, hopefully taking the
Patrick Collison route and doing the A-levels at home as opposed to pointless classes (PE, RE, PSE) and the bullshit bureaucracy one usually finds in a typical Irish secondary school.
I want 2009 to be a year where I start
doing things. Not to sound like a guy in the mid-90's with money to burn and a very basic understanding of how the internet works, but I've got an idea or two for applications I'd love to at least try. If they fail, fuckit - atleast we tried.
I don't think I'm asking for too much, am I? Mainly just for me to get my ass in gear and stop wasting time.
Also. Those little red spotty fuckers on my face are going this year. I'll pump as many prescription pills and smear as many strong, acidic creams on my face until they go and never come back.
Happy 2009 everyone.
